Ground Anchorages

As the need for new residential areas has been increasing and well-founded areas have been decreasing, it has been crucial to build engineering structures on poorer bearing soil too.  However, construction on such areas have raised several engineering problems too.  Many new methods and techniques have been developed and adopted to solve these problems.  These methods and techniques are widely used in our country too.  Below are the most commonly used methods and techniques;

Injection: This is one of the oldest and most common method used.  It is more commonly used on granular ground.  It is generally applied as injection of chemicals or benthonic cement.

Jet-Grouting: This method is applied by injecting cement with high pressures, 300-500 bars, to consolidate argillaceous soil and improve silty-sandy-gravelly soil.

Bored Piles and Micropiles: These cast-in-place piles to prevent seismic effects on the foundation on cohesive and incohesive soil.

Stone Columns: This method is generally used on soft and moderately soft argillaceous soil.  The idea is to have stone columns and the ground jointly carry the load.

As TEKBEM’s expertise is on special steels, we provide solutions and support our customers at every stage of their projects, from design to manufacturing, for choosing steel components used for Ground Technologies.

Some areas we are supplying products for are:

  • Ground Improvement
  • Active & Passive Anchorages
  • Tunneling Applications
  • Mining
