Recycling Equipment

Recycling is converting waste materials into raw materials again through certain processes.

Recycling of ferrous materials in particular has many financial and environmental benefits.  Recycling helps remove waste materials from stockyards to go through certain processes and be used as raw materials for production.

Another benefit of recycling is its positive effect on energy consumption.  For example, steel producers use 75% less energy in production from scrap metal compared to iron ore.  Almost all metals can infinitely be recycled.

Recycling of metals has many advantages for the environment too.  Using iron ore in production creates much more greenhouse gas emission compared to using recycled metals.  Such emissions trigger climate change and cause high levels of air pollution resulting in serious health issues.  Considering all the above advantages, recycling plants play an important role in helping meet raw material requirements and reduce energy consumption.

Another important aspect of recycling is that recycling plants differ in accordance with the types of products to be recycled.  As Tekbem has been working very closely with iron and steel industry, we are supplying scrap cleaning systems for recycling of metals manufactured by our German business partner Sicon.

Full recyclability is the most important thing in metals recycling.  Metals recycling process has several phases like breaking, crushing, separation, classification, pressing, etc.

First phase after breaking and crushing in metals recycling is separating ferrous metals from nonferrous metals.  Magnetic drums incorporated to these systems separate ferrous metals from nonferrous metals.  Precious nonferrous metals (aluminum, copper, etc.) are separated using Eddy Current Separation Systems for reusing.  If there are other materials like stainless steel, brass, zinc, etc. inside the metal scrap, such materials can be recycled using Sicon’s X-Ray Separation System among the several types available.
