In addition to being widely used in engineering, industrial brakes are mainly used on crane systems. Difficulties in driver and braking conditions in this area are overcome by using drums or double shoe brakes or by systems that use industrial disc brakes.
Expectations on performance, adjustability and reliability of drivers are constantly increasing. In line with these expectations, new electrical and electronic technologies have become widespread. Although electrical and electronic modular devices are being used more and more every day in modern facilities, mechanical safety brakes used with electrohydraulic Eldro thrusters still undertake a crucial task: ensuring safety of human beings and machines during a power cut.
