Ingot Tongs
Ingot lifting and handling tongs can be mechanical or electrohydraulic.
Mechanical System: When the tong is on the ingot the ratchet turn of 90° and the levers open. As soon the tong starts to raise, the ingot is clamped between its inner and outer jaw.
Electrohydraulic System: Tongs operate mechanically in opening step. During the closing step, a cylinder fed by a minipowerpack exerts pressure that allows for a soft closing of the joints.
They are usually used in hard workplaces market by burdensome working conditions and hard handling. They can be thought for all industrials applications in every kind of environment. They are most commonly used in steelmills.
