Wire Rod Magnets
Wire rod magnets developed as an alternative to C-type hook, magnetic systems grab the wire rod bundle from the top without damaging the material and easily transport to the desired location. Furthermore, magnetic systems allow more efficient use of space which would otherwise used by the C-type hook during the operation. During loading and unloading of trucks and wagons, there is no need for extra labor or extra space for the hook.
This application only uses electromagnets with deep magnetic fields. Electro permanent magnets are not suitable for this application.
It is even possible to transport improperly packed larger wire rod bundles using a powerful magnetic system. One bundle or two bundles side to side with total lengths up to 5m can easily be transported.
Using magnetic systems allows for more efficient stockyards as there would be much less space between the wire rod bundles compared to using C-type hooks. Reference studies show stockyards and warehouses could be used 40% more efficiently by implementing magnetic systems.
Magnetic systems can easily carry hot or cold wire rods.
With the technological advancements, it is also possible to use multiple magnets side by side or one behind the other to produce 2-magnet or 4-magnet solutions. This allows carrying multiple materials at once to significantly reduce operation time. Wire rod bundles can be carried both horizontally and vertically. Such magnets are also used in packaging equipment for wire rod bundles.

- Minimum and maximum widths of wire rod bundles,
- Minimum and maximum inner and outer diameters of wire rod bundles,
- Vertical / horizontal loading preference,
- Temperature of the material,
- Crane lifting capacity,
- Wire rod bundle details
