Eddy Current Separation Systems
Eddy Current Systems are used after the magnetic drums in scrap separation systems to separate nonferrous materials (aluminum, copper, etc.).
These systems are used to separate nonferrous precious metals like aluminum, copper, etc. from plastics or other waste materials that remain after magnetic drum separation.
By using Eddy Current Systems, precious metals like aluminum and copper are recycled too, providing significant savings for the companies.

Place of Use
Recycling plants, vehicle demolition plants, mining, plastics and paper industry, aluminum processing plants, etc.
Properties
They use concentric rotor instead of eccentric rotor to leave more room for fixed magnet blocks which generates a higher magnetic power. As the drums are direct drive, there are fewer moving parts and thus less maintenance need. The drum and the surface are ceramic coated.
Operating Principle
The system operates based on the principle of induction current generated on the metals by the vibrating magnetic field formed by drum rotating around its own axis. As the scrap materials move on the belt, conductive materials are transferred to a separate place by the magnetic field generated by the drum.
There are 3 types of Eddy Current separation systems;
- Standard Eddy Current Systems: They have 10-25 ton/hour capacities and are designed for ¾-6″ pieces. Magnetic drum is located on the rotor.
- High Frequency Eddy Current Systems: They are used to separate smaller pieces. Compared to Standard Eddy Current Systems, High-Frequency Eddy Current Systems additionally have pneumatic belt cleaning systems.
- Ultra-High Frequency Eddy Current Systems: They are designed to separate even smaller (3/16″) pieces. Compared to High-Frequency Eddy Current Systems, they have more powerful engines and titanium coating on drums. Hence, Ultra-High Frequency Eddy Current Systems are more powerful and more durable systems. The feeding line has to be completely free of ferrous particles.
